Templates

• Saving a publishing site as a template is not supported, hence the option is disabled within the UI and SharePoint Designer (in 2007, it was visible in SPD). It can be done by going to site settings, and appending the URL to read /_layouts/savetmpl.aspx but be warned: not supported, expect bugs and sites created from the template may not work.  (useful trick for recreating demo sites only)
